Problem with Paying through PayPal

Postby Matthew Max » Thu Mar 23, 2017 8:08 am

These instructions from PayPal that came in my email don't correspond to what I see when I try to follow them. I can't find "Subscription Details" either.

The payment for your subscription to muvipix Premiere Subscription failed because of a problem with your credit card.muvipix.com has been notified of this failed payment.

We will try to make payment again on Mar 24, 2017.

Please change the funding source for this Subscription by clicking this link and following the steps below:

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd= ... uvipix.com
1. Click the link above to go to log in and go to your Subscription Details.
2. Under 'Subscription Funding Source' choose a different funding source from one of the drop-downs. If there are no other funding sources available, add a new credit card:
3. Click on the 'Profile' subtab

Hi Matthew, See below, I don't think the subscription options exist anymore.

My PayPal view doesn't look like that. But my payment information looks up to date. So I don't know why it's not working. I don't see anything to fix.

This is what I see. I had trouble getting the right screen shot.

Matthew, is this a business account? If so there should be something under the Tools menu regarding subscriptions and recurring payments.

Yes, it's a business account, Chuck. I looked there too.
But this morning I got an email from muvipix: "Thank you for your muvipix Premiere Subscription !"
It also gave me a new login to use, which I'm not using.

Hi Matthew,

Sorry for the troubles. It's kind of strange that the payment failed, then succeeded without your intervention. Not sure what happened there.

PayPal has changed their interface a few times over the years (I refused to change mine when it was optional -- was not more user-friendly at all -- but was later forced to change). We have even found that, after doing so, they didn't update their instructions on certain procedures. We also find that something as simple as cancelling a subscription requires a painstaking search through the interface to find the basic cancel button. In order to find your subscription details (ie, whether it's "Active" or not), you must go back to the original date of the purchase, which was on or about March 21, 2014. I see that your screenshot says last 30 days (which will probably show now that the payment was successful).

And yes, you received the "optional" login information, but your forum login handles the two seamlessly.

Thanks for being a longtime supporter of our site, it keeps us alive!
Regards,
-Ron

Thanks for all that information, Ron. It explains some problems.

Also, thanks for the help with finding the hidden path to canceling a subscription. I won't need it for muvipix, though. :YY:
