The only neighborhoods in Milwaukee that don't smell like barbecued chicken today are the ones that smell that grilled bratwursts.

BBQ ribs here in the deep south. Potato salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, iced tea... and natch - peach pie.

I do feel truly blessed to have been born an American and wish the freedoms we take so for granted were shared all over the world.

Yep, a great Independence Day to all. Cloudy and cool here, but it looks like the fireworks display will be able to go on as scheduled at the park. We live a half block away so we watch from our sun room roof. We don't have to worry about finding parking or walking. It does have its perks. :yh:

Fireworks are legal in Georgia now, the neighborhood is one big fireworks display. Rockets and mortars, huge fireworks too not just bottle rockets and firecrackers. I can't believe what is going off right behind my house !

Happy Independence Day !!

We watch fireworks from the driveway. Someone a street over started last year with a big party, music, and a $$ firework display that could rival a small city. Bet they had to shovel the streets of debris afterwards. So nice to just carry the chair in and lock the door with no driving. Around here there are displays at every city, but it is a nightmare just getting out of the parks or down the main roads.

No parades here in my area this year. F-15 flyover cancelled here also. They will be flying near Portland instead. Still too much Covid I suspect. Several of our nearby hospitals are full of patients. Beds in the hallways like before. Bummer! News says most didn't have their shots. Anyway Happy 4th to you all!

We didn't celebrate. I worked on photos. I had a portrait session the evening before.

Treetops, sorry to hear your area hospital is up. My youngest daughter worked in covid wards the last 2 years.

We were at Virginia Beach on the the fourth, one house back from the dunes. We stood on the roof deck and watched an amazing fireworks display from the beach right in front of us. People were shooting off professional grade fireworks, and it went on for 40 minutes. I should have taken video :(
