Digital Art - Some cool stuff by my daughter

Postby Chuck Engels » Mon Jun 27, 2016 9:01 am

Some of you know that my daughter has written a couple of books and she is now learning illustration. The goal that she has set with our youngest son is to produce a 20 - 30 second trailer for the book in Blender, basically a movie trailer. The stories are about a world of animals with wolves being the main characters. Her stories are great but an animation of the stories would be even better. She has always been a very talented artist with pencil or clay but this has taken her to a whole new level and experience. You can check out some of her recent work here

She does cats but definitely has a preference for dogs :)
One of the main characters in her first book is a cat and she has a concept illustration for that one

Those are some pretty good drawings. It will be interesting to see a trailer.

Great stuff! Artists always amaze me, as I have not one artistic bone in my body. I especially enjoyed the "Who's There?" in the photography section.

What talent. It almost felt like I was viewing cells from Disney animations.

Good morning all,

This is not a hi-jack.... Your daughter's art work is superb.

Is this a Blender moment? I'm trying to get past the index to Blender and would be very interested if this became a new topic.

I'm not so much interested in animals as in creating characters to explain nuances of the Laws of Rugby. John Mac will understand!!

Hi Gerry, Go ahead and start a Blender topic that would be awesome :)

I have been interested in Blender for years and have started working with it on numerous occasions. Now my youngest son and daughter are getting involved. We have a subscription to their site and access to all of the tutorials so hopefully that will help speed things up a bit.

Very talented indeed! Looking forward the blender animation. Is your daughter pursuing illustration work? Looks like a solid start.

She is trying to figure out ways to promote her book series, the trailer is a great idea and could bring interest from other areas as well.
