Ha! Well, it had to happen eventually.

I often wonder about those remote cams suspended on wires above NFL games. How long until someone smacks one with a Hail Mary pass?

Well, for what it's worth, baseball is already making rules about balls that hit cameras.

* A batted ball striking the backstop camera is considered a dead ball.
* A thrown ball striking the backstop camera is considered in play.

That's interesting, Peru! The technology of broadcasting the game is becoming part of the game.

Kind of like when they declare an "official timeout" so that they can get some commercials in.

Skycam is a cable suspended system, not a free flying drone. I think there was another Skycam crash about 5 years ago.
