Stories like this make me wonder, what am I doing buying a DSLR and assorted equipment?

Of course, these people are pros and can make a great film with any photo equipment. Still...

It is like when famous musicians play very cheapo instruments and sound flawless. Of lot of the magic is in the brain of the creator and the equipment becomes secondary.

I thought that in the write up the director really focused on how much of the result is due to his knowledge of the film-making process. The anamorphic lens concept was interesting too.
