Re: Church marketing video - suggestions needed

But I want it all Chuck! :-D I'm just kind of getting a feel for what's out there in the technology and at what price. Just window shopping right now. Maybe by the time that I'm ready to spend money the prices will come down and the technology will go up. Thanks for pointing me towards these Chuck. ...

Re: Need new music

Here's a suggestion for what it's worth...
Do you need to have songs with lyrics? How about just finding some instrumental stuff that you like. You don't have to worry about whether the words match the occasion that way.

Re: Church marketing video - suggestions needed

It looks like there are 4 unbalanced 1/4" mic/line connectors, and another 4 balanced XLR connectors which can double as 1/4" inch mic/lines. I don't see any stereo. I was thinking that it would be nice to have 8 XLRs, at least for the array of mics that we'd be using.

Re: Church marketing video - suggestions needed

Chuck, I'm sure that you're right about not streaming that much information through a USB port, or firewire either. I guess I hadn't really stopped to think about the bandwidth that would be required to do that. I'm thinking of a live recording scenerio, not layering multitrack sessions on top of ea...

Re: Church marketing video - suggestions needed

Okay Chuck... After looking these over I'm thinking that this is not really what I need. Nice equipment if you want to layer via multitrack though. What would be more useful to me would be a mixer type console (say maybe 8 XLR channels) that would send each channel's output simultaneously, but separ...

Re: Exporting as MP3 in PrEl 7

Dave, I checked version 7 and can't find a way to export MP3. There are other options. What I have always done is export a WAV file and open that with Audacity, then save the file as a MP3 from there. It is quick, easy and cheap :) I actually have a couple of converters that will do the job, but I ...

Re: Exporting as MP3 in PrEl 7

Not sure if you can export MP3 but you can export WAV, bring that into Audacity and convert the file to MP3 that way. I'm sure I can do it with a 3rd party converter but I thought that PrEl was supposed to be able to do it. I do know that the help files say that V8 has that ability. Also, I don't t...

Re: Exporting as MP3 in PrEl 7

Hi Dave, well you can go File>Export>Audio. You should then be able to go into Settings, General, and select Windows Waveform and then under Audio you can select the compressor. However I dont have MP3 there... whether it is because I dont have an MP3 compressor on that computer or simply that PE7 ...

Exporting as MP3 in PrEl 7

I have a project from which I want to export just the audio (currently .wav) as MP3. I've found instructions for doing this out of PrEl 8, but they don't appear to apply to V7. Searching the help files (online) only returns results for V8 and V4. I assume this can be done in V7?

Re: Grad Movie Opening Sequence (With Morph)

That is a great morph. I'm sure everyone will appreciate what you've done. There's a lot of love put into projects like these, and satisfaction from doing them.

Re: Church marketing video - suggestions needed

Ah, yes. Tascam is Teac's pro line. They've always had very nice equipment. I don't have time right at this moment to check these out in detail, but I defnitely will do so later today. I'm very interested. Thanks so much for the links Chuck.

Re: Church marketing video - suggestions needed

Chuck would you be able to point me towards an example of the multitrack hard disk recorder that you referenced in your post above? I'd interested in learning more about these.

Re: Church marketing video - suggestions needed

UPDATE: The recording session went well. We had a high of 89 degrees yesterday, and although the church was air conditioned it was still very warm to work in. The choir was dressed in their robes, so they had it worse than I did. I ended up using a single piano mic on a boom pointing straight down t...
