Re: Error when trying to open folder

One possibility: Sometimes if, when you create a folder, you accidentally type a space after the name Thanks, Steve, but I checked for that. Quick thought: is your camera still plugged in? Windows might be "locking" that folder, because it thinks the camera still has the only "permiss...

Re: Video for iPod

I import my movies into Windows Movie Maker, save them to a file, and then use this free video to ipod converter: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-Video-to-iPod-Converter.htm DVDVideoSoft also has other converters (Youtube, URL, etc.) that seem to work well for me: http://www.dvdvideoso...

Re: USB issue

Such an outrageously simple solution makes me 1. feel pretty silly/stupid and 2. makes me angry the web geeks didn't say, Hey, before you do anything else ... Took me 3 hrs to find this solution and 15 seconds to instigate it. Hey, but at least I found it. And I should have thought to suggest it. #...

Re: Win an (autographed) Copy of Steve's Book!

The "Products" and "Home" tabs are on the right, instead of on the left under the "New Stuff" tab? :-k

Re: Backing Up Programs

What have you done to backup programs to another computer if you don't have the installation CD? Some of the older, or less complicated, programs run from an .exe file and do not use the registry (such as PhotoImpression 4, Jruler, and older versions of Quicken). In that case, just copy the .exe fo...

Re: adjusting brightness changes position

Have you opened up the Properties panel timeline and watched the motion settings to see if they're actually changing when you adjust the brightness or if it's an "illusion"? The properties values did not change in the properties panel , but even after rendering when viewing the video you ...

Re: Archiving a project

I have been uncomfortable with the archive feature because it will slice and dice your input files and create new ones with only the pieces of video from each clip that you have put on the timeline. Actually sometimes this is a nifty feature and I have used it for other purposes than intended, but ...

Re: Long Project Done as Short Segments?

I do all the scenes in 4:3 but when I bring them into the assembly, that is a 16:9 project and I then have Track 1 as a wide background track. I don't generate 4:3 projects any more. Sometimes I use the extra space on the side for titles, etc. Great idea! :TU: When you archive the projects, do you ...

adjusting brightness changes position

When raising the brightness of a clip in the timeline of a four minute slide show (widescreen, about 30 images resized to 1000 pixels high x 2000 pixels wide at 72ppi {about a 1.8MB file} in Photoshop Elements 5), it changes the horizontal position in the motion path. :-s I got around the problem by...
