Re: Canon's new PowerShot Zoom

I looked at the specs. It says it has a 4x optical zoom and 2x digital zoom. So, full frame equivalent is 100 to 400mm optical and digital brings it to 800mm.

Re: Reduce Photo size to within Safe Margin

Check your TV screen settings, too. It could be that your settings are affecting the viewed image size The outer margin at 90% is called the Action Safe margin. In the days of analog tv, anything outside that margin was subject to being lost due to overscanning or being covered by the bezel. Anythin...

Re: VEGAS DVD Architect becoming scarce

The surprise is not that they are dropping it, but that they waited so long to do it. I was the holdout in my family, but even I haven't burned a disk in over 5 years. At home, I stream from a media server on my home network and can view from any device. I don't use vimeo or YouTube, but I'll share ...

Re: video upscale

Topaz Labs sells a product called Video Enhance AI specifically designed to enlarge and enhance video. Needs interlaced video to be de-interlaced before upscaling, but the results are impressive. See this link for more information: https://topazlabs.com/video-enhance-ai/

Re: USB Mic Levels

That software solution should work. Interestingly enough, I am using Windows 10 and I am not experiencing the low volume problem with USB mics described in the video. Back when I was using Windows 7, I bought a USB mic which turned out to be the same one Steve was using at the time. I'm still using ...

In device properties, does the levels panel show a microphone boost control as shown here?

Re: SD cards won't come up

Are both those cards sdxc? The 64 gb one is. 32 gb could be sdhc or sdxc. I suspect your card readers are old enough that they don't support sdxc.

Re: Artistic Theme Menu?

From the name, this looks like a background audio file that plays while the menu is active. It probably came with the menu from the old version. Some menus had included audio files.

Re: Even during a Pandemic the roses are blooming

...but how can we be sure that it is you behind the mask, Sidd. It could be Clayton Moore.

Clayton Moore passed away in 1999. As far as I can tell, Sidd is still alive. Besides, I met Clayton Moore twice, Sidd doesn't look anything like him -- even with the mask.

Re: HALP! Win 10 'Critical Update' killed my computer

I reformatted my C drive to completely re-install Windows 10, Pro, with a newly purchased OS on a dvd, not the 'free' update … Can I, should I, open the copy Windows Programs file and drag them to the new C Programs files? 32 and 64, respectively? NO, you should not. You did a "clean install&q...

Re: microsoft word

Thanks, Chuck. To be fair, you can't go wrong with either one of them. They're both solid office suites. The reason I'm advocating LibreOffice is that along with the active and robust developer support, it has the most potential. There's an interesting licensing issue that plays into that. While bot...

Re: microsoft word

I used OpenOffice for years starting back before it had been transferred to Apache. It's a solid office suite, but hasn't been getting the developer support it used to. Latest update is version 4.1.7 released last September. LibreOffice is very similar to Apache OpenOffice as both are basically desc...

Re: Bacteria spread

Does CoronaVirus make you potty more often? Apparently so. I saw an article that said about half of covid-19 patients had digestive issues including that specific one. But, that's incidental to the real issue: panic buying and hoarding. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://muvipix.com/phpBB3/imag...

Re: Hi, guys! About Stabilizers

Looks interesting. I couldn't readily find the specs for weight capacity and acceptable camera dimensions for that, but I did find a camera compatibility list on the manufacturer's site. The 1DX Mark II wasn't listed, but my Nikon D850 was. I'll definitely keep that in mind when I'm ready for a stab...
