Re: Reading Glasses with Auto Focus

Dave, Congrats! :exc: What type and brand lenses do you have? Acysof Toric. I've had bad astigmatism my whole life. The lenses correct to near perfect vision in the range of about 1.5 ft to 10 ft. Distance vision is good enough that I can drive safely without glasses. Need readers for the close stu...

Reading Glasses with Auto Focus

I recently had cataract surgeries and am now using readers for the first time, so this looks interesting. Checking Amazon reviews, people seem to have mixed reports on these ranging from “fantastic” to “scam”. It seems that this may be one of those “your mileage may vary” situations. After reading t...

Re: Has Google gone mad?

Sounds like you've got a browser hijacker. They'll redirect you to the type of stuff you describe. Check your browser extensions for anything that doesn't belong there and get rid of it.

Re: Memorial Day at the Ocean

Sure couldn't tell that the drone was fighting the wind. It was pretty comfortable from here in my armchair :) . Nice job. I hope you were out of it when that storm got there.

Re: What if the Ocean was Sideways

That's amazingly disorienting. Something unnatural about that. :conf:

Re: I Suppose It Was Inevitable...

We had a "graduation" from preschool in the family this past week. It wasn't a "fire up the camcorder" moment, so I didn't. However, it happens that I ended up sitting on the aisle seat and ended up taking some cellphone video for the family. I wonder what they thought when they ...

Re: Department of Homeland Security drone concerns

It seems like almost all technology today has concerns over security and privacy. I hate to say it, but I could believe this is true. So many times we cross over to the realm of what used to be science fiction.

Re: Syncing frame rate to chopper rotation

Pretty cool. Right at the beginning the blades have a slight turning motion, and in the last few seconds there's definite motion, so this may be legit.

Re: New Hard Drive - Arrived in bag - out of box

Add me in agreement with those above. B&H has a great reputation and shouldn’t hesitate to take care of this for you. I can’t imagine how this happened. I don’t think I could get a drive out of its box even intentionally mishandling it.
