Very close friends of ours in Arkansas are going through the same thing, very sad. Glad you are getting back to life again, even though it is tough I know you will be fine.

Re: Need to edit project from PRE 3
Posted: peggig @ Sun Dec 14, 2014 3:47 pm
I'm having generally good results so far. I've been able to make edits to a PRE 3 project and export it to an MPEG file from PRE 10. (I haven't watched the whole video, so I don't know if all the transitions work.) However, on at least one occasion, after opening the project in PRE 10, I was not able to even play the video from the timeline. It just froze. However, after closing the project, rebooting the machine, and then opening it again, it worked. So it might be hit or miss, but I have ha...

Re: Applying Transitions between Track Mattes

Thanks Bob, that definitely makes sense. I didn't know the effects were applied in the order listed nor that you could re-arrange the order manually. But then again there's lots of things I don't know. :-k I'll try removing all Motion effects and using a Transform effect before the Track Matte effect as you suggested and see if I can get PE to apply the Track Matte after everything else. Seems the default Motion effect should be applied before the Track Matte, but like you said, the be...

Re: Black margins

The video CAN fill the frame in the editing workspace, Ros, if you resize the panel that the video is in, as I described in my last post. Meantime, can you Dropbox me a sample of your DVD video (the VOB file)? I'd like to check out the black margins on it myself? It's possible what's going on has to do with a setting on a disc player rather than Premiere Elements. (I'm assuming you've got a widescreen TV that's capable of displaying 16:9 video.)

Re: Highlighting Multiple Clips/Stills on Timeline

Thanks everyone. Both worked. Bob, I was only working on the morph sequence so it was easy enough to just delete the other ones (learning how to lasso sure helped), re-import the media as a numbered sequence, drop the "clip" (yay!) on the timeline, and apply the two adjustments (scale and edge feather). It looks awesome. Now I'll just export the .avi and use it in my project. Thanks again!!

Unlike Vimeo, Facebook or Youtube, we don't re-encode your video here on Muvipix. What you're seeing is exactly what you uploaded. If you'd like to be able to view the video full-screen, etc, you may want to upload it to one of those sites instead and link the video to our forum.

Re: Getting the most quality: AVCHD to Standard DVD

I revisited my AVCHD chapters and the settings of converting them to DV-AVI - in PRE7 there is a Recompress option that was checked upon each of my exports. I missed the opportunity to uncheck the box. So - my files were being recompressed - some more than once, as I put chapters of footage together. I believe this is what caused the disturbing artifacts and combing in my final movie. I reprocessed the AVCHD files - some in PRE7 and my larger files in PRE12 and the resulting DV-AVI files were ...
