The last time I did what I want to do was with Premiere Elements 10 in 2013 with different computer.
I capture from my Canon HV40 with HDVsplit. I bring into Premiere Elements 10 and edit and then I would burn a AVCHD to a DVD-R 4.7GB disc. I would have less than 20 minutes or less of High Definition video on a standard DVD-R and watch on my Bly Ray player.

I'm trying to do that today with Premiere Elements 2021 with no good results.
I did my editing and click Export and Share. Then I click Devices then i click custom.
I open advanced settings on drop down menu. Export settings I pick H.264 AVCHD. Basic video settings are 1440 x 1080.
I click OK. Then I click save. It starts saving the project to its intended destination folder.
When I open saved file I have two. I have video file with M4V file extension and audio file with WAV file extension.
I don't know how to get those on a disc to burn. I have Roxio easy CD and DVD burning 2 and when I try to bring files into Roxio it does not recognize those files.
I remember it being easier in 2013 to do this. What am I doing wrong?

I think when I export AVCHD I should end up with a VideoTS folder.

I don't believe version 2021 has the option to burn an AVCHD DVD, does it?

Its only disc burning options are for standard def DVDs, unless I'm wrong.

I'm not sure that will work since, as you've noted, this doesn't create a VIDEO_TS folder with BluRay files.

well that stinks. I wish I could go back to PE 10.
And it doesn't make sense to me.
Is there any way for me to get my Hi-Def video onto a disc and be able to watch in Hi-Def on a Blue Ray player?

Could you pick up a copy of PrEl10 on ebay or similar? The downside is that your current project would most likely need to be re-done in PrEl10.

thanks John.
I have the discs but Windows 10 wont complete install.
I would have to go back to XP I think.
edit:
I tried installing PE10 again and instead of canceling install like I did previously because it took so long I just let computer take its time and PE10 is installed and I'm starting over.
I'm so happy so far. I hope it works.
I'll report back.

So I brought my m2t files into PE10. I tried opening one clip in clip monitor but it did not work.
Then I brought three clips on time line as you can see in picture. When I play I get good audio but no video in monitor.
Any suggestion?

Most new TVs will accept a flash drive and will play whatever media is on the drive, even in 4K if the speed of the flash drive is good enough. DVD and BluRay players are pretty much obsolete now due to the capabilities of newer TVs. You can skip through videos pretty easily but you do not get menus which would be nice.

Unfortunately that's not an option using a flash drive. I need to make discs. They have a blue ray player hooked up to tv and its very easy to use.

With that drop down menu above from PE 2021 what export setting can I use to put on a DVD?

I still don't think you're going to be able to output BluRay disc files from Premiere Elements 2021, Richard. At least discs that you can play on a standard BluRay player.

To create a BluRay you're going to have to use a third-party app like TMPGEnc Authoring Works. https://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/taw6.html

Glad you got it figured out, Adobe has removed so much functionality it's getting hard to accomplish all that we used to be able to without other tools.
