I have just installed PE3 on my new computer. Is there a way to copy the mpeg encoding presets that I have on the old computer PE3 to the new one so I don't have to set all the bitrates individually and rename to new presets?
thanks,
joe

thanks, joe ASRock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen/3 motherboard. Core i7 2600 and 16 gigs of ddr3. SSD Crucial boot drive, GTX750 Ti video card. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
Re: copying mpeg encoding presetsHi Joe,
In version 3 you should be able to export the presets from the install on one computer, then import them into v3 on the other computer. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: copying mpeg encoding presetsThanks Chuck, but where do I find this option to take the mpeg settings and export?

Re: copying mpeg encoding presetsAre they presets that you created?

Re: copying mpeg encoding presetsWell, you know when you go to the export to mpeg you get a choice of settings for amount of compression. If you hit the advanced tab, you can set bit rate, 1 pass or 2 pass VBR or CBR based on calculations of how long the movie is and then you can save those settings. For example I call one 2hrs and 10 minutes 2 pass VBR. I'll call another 60 minutes CBR .. or something like that.
So, the next VHS I capture and edit on the timeline, I can see the movie length and go to export > Mpeg and select which settings I want known by similar previous movies. Does that make sense. I hope I'm saying it right. ASRock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen/3 motherboard. Core i7 2600 and 16 gigs of ddr3. SSD Crucial boot drive, GTX750 Ti video card. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Re: copying mpeg encoding presetsThat's different from the effects presets that you can save and export, sorry Joe.
Hopefully RJ's location of the files will provide you with enough info to find them in v3 and copy them to your new location 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
