Sorry for your loss...

At times like these, I refer to my fairly extensive Windham Hill collection and find something quiet, instrumental, soothing. Do you have any of those CDs?

Since she was born in the very early 20th century, you may want to use a song from the 1920s or 1930s.

Although "Sentimental Journey" (from the 1940s) and Sinatra's "It Was a Very Good Year" are also timelessly sentimental.

So very sorry for your loss. I personally like the old time hymns. How Great Thou Art. Maybe some instrumental versions of the classics.

I am sorry for your loss. Since the mood is going to be somber anyway can I suggest some Glen Miller “In the Mood” The up-tempo of the song lets people rejoice in the happiness of her life and not focus on her ultimate passing. Yes I think you can get too depressed at a funeral :)

I've been thinking about this again. Actually have thought about memorial slideshows before. If a slideshow is to be shown during the visitation the day before and possibly the hour before the service you would want something subdued with cross disolves and pans/zooms. Something reverent. But this slideshow may not be one that you would want to view later that celebrates the life of the person.

Could make 2 slideshows. One now for the funeral. The second one make later when you have more time and could put in titles, upbeat music and possible narration of family members holding a particular photo. Someone on here did a family history video with the last idea....sorry, forgot who it was.

I went to a visitation about 2 years ago and the ex-wife made a slideshow that must of had every transition in WMM. The zooms ended up in the wrong place on the photo, etc. Remember one song was Puff the Magic Dragon. It was for a person in their 40's and thought it was a tad odd.
