A parking place for everything that relates to our contests and giveaways!

Here’s your chance to have some fun, get creative and maybe even win some cool prizes!
The rules are simple.
We’ve got two categories. One is completely open. Show us your best stuff. All we ask is that you keep it under four minutes. There are no limits on subject matter (well, within reason — we’re a family site, after all ) and the more interesting, the better.
The second category is more of a “mash up” challenge. We’re providing you the clips (You can download the WMV files from the link below), but you can use them however you want. (Just because it’s raw footage of a wedding doesn’t mean you have to create a wedding video!) Recut the footage any way you want. Mix new footage in. Create a fake movie trailer. Add special effects and music. Add zombies! Doesn’t matter. Just have fun with it. But, again, keep it under 4 minutes. We’re looking for the most entertaining and creative use of the mix.
Download the mash-up clips from here:
http://muvipix.com/contest/contest.htm
In each category, we’ll have a staff-picked winner and a people’s choice award, in which the best video will be selected by votes from your Muvipix friends. We’ve got some great Adobe-donated merchandise for the winners.
Then the Muvipix staff will select, from those winners, our Best in Show Grand Prize — the winner of which will receive a $100 Amazon.com gift certificate!
We’ve created a special area in our Gallery for posting your entries. Any registered user can enter, and any registered user can vote for the winners. Our deadline for posting is June 3, and we’ll announce our winners about a week later.

Don’t forget, when you post your entry to include a 100x75 pixel thumbnail frame grab from your video to post with your Gallery link. Here's how to name and post them:

So charge those batteries, polish those lenses and get ready to roll!

Just a quick question. Can you have more than one entry in the same catagory?

I have an idea for an entry, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get it finished in time. But I'm going to try. It will be a music video type thing to "Chestnut Mare".

Maybe we need to extend the entry deadline? Anyone think they will have trouble getting their entry completed on time? Would another week or two help?

Yeah, maybe push it to the middle of June ?
We did have the server transition and all of that delayed the actual announce several days.

Alright, how about extending the entry deadline to June 17th at Midnight Eastern Time. The videos will be available for viewing/voting no later than June 23rd. The voting will end on July 8th and the winners will be announced no later than July 15th. How does that sound?

Thanks!
Now, I have another question. Are you judging based on using PE and what someone's done with the program (ya know, the special effects) or is it the content?

This contest is open to any editing software, the judging will be on content not the use of Premiere Elements.

Is it possible if you have already submitted something but would like to unsubmit so you can put a wee bit of extra polish on the opus?

No problem. Would you like me to simply delete your current upload?

Thanks again.
BTW, I'm don't think I'll win in one catagory, no less multiple ones.
Ron - what are you doing up at 4:42 am?

Ah, that's nothin'. I'm usually awake at 5 every morning anyway, but there are times that I'll wake up at midnight-1AM and just can't get back to sleep and I'll end up here looking around. It's usually when some of the overseas crowd is just getting their coffee and posting
