A place to introduce and tell a little about yourself.

Although I've been a member here for a while, I'm ashamed I haven't taken the time to introduce myself. My name is Dick and I live in Fort Collins, Colorado. After too many years doing support for everything from IBM mainframe computers to HP OpenView software, I finally bit the bullet and 'pre-tired' late last year. I'm now a full-time house husband and avid graphics software wannabe.
My movie-making hardware arsenal consists of an ancient Nikon Coolpix camera with an enormous 1" video monitor on the back and, well, that's about it. I keep wishing it would break down so I could justify something else, but it stubbornly refuses to die. The image quality for both stills and video is really quite good, though, so it's difficult to just scrap it.
My wife and I travel to the UK a couple of times each year to relax, walk and hang out in pubs drinking some of the best beer in the world - although Fort Collins with 6 breweries isn't too bad either. Otherwise, I'm either on my mountain bike or behind a keyboard (I can't get away from it...)
That's enough from me.
Dick

Welcome Dick - glad you chimed in. We could probably both share some old IBM mainframe stories. I got "pre-tired" from IBM about ten years ago and loving it ever since, but I did start a small PC consulting business here at the NC beach.
Anyhow, be active - lots of good stuff here!

Hi Dick Always great to learn something about the other members here. Do you use the keyboard while on the mountain bike? That would be a great trick. Maybe you can get together with some of the UK crowd for a beer next time you visit the other side of the pond

Hi Dick! Thanks for introducing yourself. Seems we have a few things in common. I have an IBM mainframe background, I led the implementation of HP Openview in my company, I'm retired, and I own a Coolpix which won't die. Glad to meet you!

Happy to meet up for that beer thing next time you are in the UK. I can recommend the North West of England (i.e. Cheshire - so no bias there then!).

I think his name is Dick, not Donna That reminds me of a line from a movie 'Stop calling me Shirley'
