Great place you have hereGlad I found the website. Very impressed so far. Not sure how I can update my profile, but I run a website that promotes backyard poultry keeping in Australia. http://www.backyardpoultry.com (poultry is an addictive hobby) I plan to make chook promotional movies (chook is an Australian word for "chicken"). I am very new to the world of moving pictures, but have been doing still photos for a while, and keen to learn .

To update your profile click on User Control Panel (left corner of this page... near top) Then click on Profile tab. Some great photos on your site.

Re: Great place you have hereI love seeing what a diverse variety of people we attract here!
Cool website, chooks! We'd love to hear more about you and your work and about some of the video work you do or are planning to do. We're also well represented in Australia. Where do you live? You might have a Muvipix neighbor! Welcome aboard! HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro

Re: Great place you have hereGlad you found this site. Welcome!.
You wont find a group of more helpful and knowledgeable people anywhere on the internet. This is truly the greatest forum on the internet.
Re: Great place you have herethanks for the welcomes Managed to update the profile too :D the chick pic was taken by myself, but am a bit daunted by movies atm. Feels like the bottom of Mt everest again, but glad I found this site

Well, think of Muvipix as your personal Sherpa. Spend some time here reading and asking questions, and you'll be halfway to the top in no time! ASRock Z77 Pro4, Xeon E3-1230 V2, Windows 7 64-bit, 32GB RAM, 3GB GTX 660 ti, 240GB SSD for OS/programs, 3x640GB in RAID0 for projects

Re: Great place you have herePersonal Sherpa, like that! Sounds like a good ad to the slogan. Trivia: What is Mt. Everest called in Nepal? A student from Nepal gave me a Tshirt with the name and a cool graphic.

Re: Great place you have hereYou got me curious so I had to look it up, Cheryl.
I guess it never dawned on me that the name "Everest" had to be an English name for the place. (Actually named after the Welsh surveyor who mapped the area when it was a British colony.) But then again I still have trouble remembering that Calcutta is now Kolkata, Peking is now Beijing and Burma is now Myanmar. Re: Great place you have hereFinally, I stumped Steve! If not, my follow up question would have been counting to 10 in Nepalese and if you gave up to say the Nepalese word for uncle. I'll post a pic of the Tshirt later.
What amazes me is that the news casters still say Bombay when it has been Mumbai since the 1990's. aka Cheryl

Re: Great place you have hereNot to mention all the countries whose political boundarys have changed as well as the name. I find I remember what I learned in school as a child and have to translate in my mind to the current names. I find it interesting to see the geographic place names in the original language of the country.
So, how about the other side of the mountain. Can you find the name of Mt. Everest in Tibet?
Re: Great place you have hereHaven't hosted any students from Tibet , so I am stumped.
