Snow Globe EffectI saw this over at Photoshop Creative Elements/VioVio
http://www.viovio.com/photos/image/710380 It is just a graphic but could be a great idea for video, it could even have moving snow - Cool Idea! 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: Snow Globe EffectDonna did one with moving snow:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1471&p=11322&hilit=snowglobe#p11322 If you follow the links to the Panos site there is one where you can get the snow tp fall within the globe...
Re: Snow Globe EffectVery nice, I had forgotten about that thread (moved it to the Showcase Forum too).
I still like the one at VioVio, very unique. I would like to see the snow falling inside the globe only 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: Snow Globe EffectLike this:
http://www.panosfx.com/images/stories/T ... index.html You can replace the photo with your own. My project for the weekend.
Re: Snow Globe EffectYup, love the snow inside the globe. Not sure I like the photo frame though, that is what I like about the image at VioVio.
If anyone can do something amazing with that, you can Paul I can already see one of those 3D images you do so well inside the globe ! 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Snow Globe EffectHi Paul, I hope you will share your results when you are done! I am going to try this effect also this weekend, I hope to add a video clip to it. Donna's sample lead me to the Panos site and what neat effects one can do! I am sure I will be seeking help! Kerrie

Re: Snow Globe EffectHere ya go: only took a couple of minutes. I exported it as high definition, I am using it in a Christmas project.
Here is the link to the gallery. The actual file itself is very good quality. http://muvipix.com/cpg/albums/userpics/ ... wglobe.wmv Now I need to see if I can change the frame. My Charlie's Angels by the way... they think they are anyway... I wouldn't say angels!!! [wmvvideo1]http://muvipix.com/cpg/albums/userpics/10003/Snowglobe.wmv[/wmvvideo1]
Re: Snow Globe EffectVery nice, they sure look like angels
I think the 3D effect without the frame would be way cool ! 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: Snow Globe EffectThanks Paul for sharing! Glad to hear it only took a few minutes.....so I may have some hope of accomplishing this effect in a timely manner! Kerrie

Re: Snow Globe EffectHow did you do this... or better asked, are there files available to create this effect. I know I could put my picture over that picture... but wouldn't the snow then go behind my picture?
This is timely this time of year. Mark

Check the link in the post above to Panosfx 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Snow Globe EffectThe site is here: http://www.panosfx.com/ You have to sign up, log in, and go to the Club Room to access the effect.
Re: Snow Globe EffectRegarding the Snowglobe with the photo of my daughters inside, I commented how they think they are my angels, but I wasn't so sure. And Chuck said "Very nice, they sure look like angels"
Well... I was doing a holiday video and my daughter got mad because I kept making her re do it. I captured some evidence with my camcorder... now what do you think??? Large version in the gallery here: http://muvipix.com/cpg/albums/userpics/ ... ebecca.wmv [wmvvideo1]http://muvipix.com/cpg/albums/userpics/10003/Rebecca.wmv[/wmvvideo1]
Re: Snow Globe EffectThat's so cool!
Please share your methods! Jennifer
Currently the owner of an embarrassingly slow system, hoping that will change!
Re: Snow Globe EffectI used Adobe After Effects. Doesn't come out too well in .wmv format. In the original high definition it is clearer and you can see the detail in the face. I added a texture adjustment layer to give the face a cracked appearance.
