Watch out for Amazon Prime email scamI received this email and called Amazon to see if it was real and they told me it was a scam:
Re: Watch out for Amazon Prime email scamWell gee, it says "Scam email" right at the top! Take a hint!
I just renewed my Amazon Prime at the $99 rate. Next time it's going to be $129. Once they've got you... Be yourself; everyone else is taken.

Re: Watch out for Amazon Prime email scam
I pasted screen grabs of the email into Word and then added "Scam email" in red at the top, just for emphasis. I then did a screen capture of the Word document to upload here. Amazon said they would send me an email address to which I should forward the scam email. They sent the email address as plain text, not a link, so I copied the address and forwarded it to them in hopes that they could prevent someone who is not careful from being scammed.
Re: Watch out for Amazon Prime email scamAnd if you look up that 2360 Corporate Circle #400, you can plainly see it's not Amazon but some telemarketing company and if you check the BBB it is not accredited. Also I noticed that several companies are operating out of that address.
Re: Watch out for Amazon Prime email scam
I didn't bother researching that because I thought a scammer would use Amazon's actual address in the email.
Re: Watch out for Amazon Prime email scamScammers are notoriously stupid as most of them know very little about the United States as a lot of them are from Romania, Russia and other similar countries. They don't take time to do any research, they don't have to people still fall for this stuff anyway.

Re: Watch out for Amazon Prime email scam
Yeah, me too. If you want to see something really scary, try this: See How Much You've Spent At Amazon: Go to the following page: https://www.amazon.com/gp/css/homepage.html/ Scroll down to the section that says "Ordering and shopping preferences" Click on "Download order reports". If you're not logged in you'll be prompted to do so. Set the report type to Orders and shipments. Set the start date to Jan 1 of the oldest year. For end date click on "Use today". Give the report a name if you'd like. Click on Request Report. I've been using Amazon since 2006 and the report was generated in about 30 seconds. The report will show up just below the Request Report button as a CSV file. Download it to your computer and open with Excel. Scroll to the bottom of the spreadsheet. In the blank cell at the bottom of the "Total Charged" column, enter the formula: =SUM(X1:X1000) In the above formula substitute the column letter for "X" and the beginning and ending rows for "1" and "1000". For example, it might look something like =SUM(U2:U475) Press Enter. The cell where you entered the formula will display your total. Be yourself; everyone else is taken.
