Festival of Nations 2017

Postby momoffduty » Tue Aug 29, 2017 7:04 pm

This year was perfect weather and with that came record crowds. The 2 day festival is free with 3 stages and entertainment non-stop. Food from over 50 countries represented. Shot on a Sony RX100iv. I love the camera for its size. In video mode there is no zoom so have to zoom with the feet. I shoot primes on my DSLR so accustomed. The only drawback is getting close-up shots I feel like I am invading someone's personal space a bit.

I have a case for the Sony and use the cross-body strap to steady the shots. I am looking for a gimbal if anyone has recommendations.

Nice work as always. Good to see Mr Dad enjoying himself too. The camera records very nicely. The colors are vibrant and looks good. I have always liked the way Sony does color. AT :30 there is a hint of mom foot....nice. Had to pause and go back to make sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me... lol

In terms of a gimbal the prices have really been coming down a lot lately. I would suggest a 3 axis Zeiyu-Tech. I have a couple of theirs 2 axis and 3 axis and I think they are made pretty well.

You have a talent for getting the best original footage and a nice touch for editing. Hand in hand you produce very watchable video. Looks like a very fun and interesting festival. Thanks for sharing!

I agree. The videos you make always give a nice view into the events and they are edited in a way that holds the viewers attention. When I watch I always think whats Mr Dad gonna do in this episode. And the foot thing really cracks me up. All in all enjoyable video.

Thanks Dave & Sidd. The Muvipix foot fetish? The festival offers so much to see and eat and see again that it easy to get distracted. Look over here something interesting to oh wait no over here. Lots to choose from when shooting. My only regret is not getting more food booth shots, but it was packed down that walking path. Oh, next year. It is our favorite local festival.

I looked at that gimbal. I didn't realize gimbals take batteries. I thought something small, light weight, and hand held in one hand. Researching I found a different one, but the back bracket obscures most of the LCD screen. I would use it at festivals, on vacation, and chasing the grandkids.
