When using photomerge compose the 'reveal' brush does not work. The Hide brush does. why?

They both work for me on Windows 10.

Which version are you using on what operating system?

Have you tried it with other photos to see if the problem is unique to that photo set?

I'd also be interested in knowing if it was working then then stopped working. I've had situations where a brush will suddenly stop working and the only way I was able to fix it was to reinstall the program.

thanks for your comments.

I am using an "student and teacher edition" in Windows 10.

I am pretty sure it worked previously and I have tried several different photos with no success.

I am willing to reinstall as suggested, if you think that will help.

If no one else comes up with a working solution I'd try a reinstall. You'd only be out your time to do it.

thanks again for your suggestions. I was looking at Adobe forum and there was a suggestion to open the editor, go to edit>preferences>general> reset pref on next launch.
I tried this and it was successful. thanks again for your prompt replies.
