Real-time video presentaion control 4 video sources

Postby Donald » Fri May 12, 2017 3:34 am

I need to present a set of videos at a dance recital. I need the ability to fade at least 4 sources in realtime because the production doesn't have set timing between acts. I would like to use adobe premeire or Avid if possible with a second video out and use the main screen to control the transition viewed on the second video screen any tips.

What exactly do you mean when you say "you need to fade at least 4 sources in realtime"?

Are you saying that you're going to be using a switching to control several video sources that are projecting onto a performance stage simultaneously?

If so, I don't think the program you use to create these videos matters.

But if you're looking for a tool for controlling your video sources during a live production -- that may be more of a function of your equipment rather than the software.

But we'll be better able to make a recommendation once we get a clearer picture of what you're trying to do.

If I understand your requirements correctly I think you need a video switcher, don't know how you would do this with a video editing application.

Black Magic makes a great one, there are others that are less expensive. It just depends on your exact requirements and how much of this you plan on doing.

Not knowing your application the video switcher is pretty cost prohibitive.

Your post sounds like you need to play 4 different pre-recorded videos based on a break in the performance. You do not know when the break comes but need to be able to play the videos on a moments notice.

You might try embedding the videos into a PowerPoint presentation. Each video embedded into a separate slide. Then you can switch between the slides to play each video. Just make sure you are using high quality videos and that you keep the video files in the same folder as the power point presentation. Keep the media on the computer overdrive so that you do not experience any lag.
