Synchronise Organizer in both desktop PC and laptop

Postby mcdon47 » Mon Jan 16, 2017 1:15 pm

I synchronised the folder (using File explorer and third party software) containing all the photos between my desktop PC and laptop. Having imported the folder into the Organizer in desktop PC, is it possible to synchronise the Organizer my laptop?

What do you mean by synchronize?

Are you desktop and laptop connected and using the same drive?

Drive C in my laptop and Drive D in my desktop PC. If I import photos from my camera into Organizer in my desktop PC, will the same photos appear in my laptop or do I have to import them as well? Would be convenient if they are synchronised.

I'm still not sure how both your desktop and laptop are sharing the same drive and media library.

I used Resilio Sync (formerly Bit Torrent Sync) and synchronised the files.

Hi, is it not possible to synchronise the Organizer in both my PC desktop and laptop? What I do at the moment is I import new photos directly from my camera into Organizer say in my desktop PC but then I have to do the same in my laptop. Is there a way where I only have to import once and they both appear in both computers?

I don't know how that would work. We're talking about two separate computer systems.

However, I believe the Organizer in version 15 can also be synched to media files stored online to sites like OneDrive, Flickr and Google Photos. If you stored your media there rather than on the individual computers, you could synch both of your catalogs to the media on these sites.

Though I have to admit I haven't experimented much with Organizer connections to these online sites so I don't know exactly how that would work.

Thanks. I will try Google photos because of the huge amount of photos I have and not keen to spend any more money. Yahoo seems to be having problems. Which one would folks go for?

As I've said, I haven't had a lot of experience with connecting the Organizer catalog to online file storage, so I'm not even sure which sites it will link to (other than OneDrive).
