transfer a UDF file DVD to PE10?

Postby coolstuffiniowa » Thu Feb 21, 2013 8:33 am

ok - another buddy of mine just sent a UDF file and I am needing to edit it on PE10

I am trying to figure out how to import this file in a way that I can edit the footage so I can take his 35 minutes and get 3 good minutes of it.

Is UDF file a MAC tool?

I've never had to work with one. But, based on what I see online, it's a simple video file conversion.

Are you on a Mac? If so, it might be a good idea to add your operating system and other computer specs to your signature so it will appear whenever you post a question. That will save us a lot of back and forth when we try to recommend software solutions.

UDF is a file system used used for storing files on optical media, e.g. DVDs. Files with an extension of ".UDF" are image files of the DVD. They are similar to ".ISO" files. They contain the VIDEO_TS folder and the .VOB files and such that make up a DVD.

The easiest thing to do is simply burn a DVD from the ".UDF" file and then use the get media function in Premiere Elements to import the ".VOB" files into your project.
