sonicfire pro 5 not connecting to PRE 10Ok I requested the serial number from sonicfire late yesterday afternoon. By the time I left work I still had not received the serial number but sonicfire was opening as a stand-alone program and PRE10 was asking for the serial number. I come back to work today, check my email and the serial number is waiting for me. I open PRE10 and click the audio button, select sonicfire and nothing. This time PRE10 does not ask for the serial number but does open sonicfire as a stand-alone program. What is the secret -- anybody??

Re: sonicfire pro 5 not connecting to PRE 10I'm not sure what's up. I usually get the SonicFire serial number within seconds of requesting it -- so I don't know what happens if you shut it off and come back to it later.
What happens if you open SonicFire from inside the Program Files/SmartSound Software folder? HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: sonicfire pro 5 not connecting to PRE 10Thanks for looking
doing what you suggested -- sonicfire opens, displays window saying sonicfire can interact with adobe premiere pro CS5 and up, adobe after effects cs5 and up and avid pinnacle 15 and up. also with a little note saying if I want to know more click learn and additional charges may apply. I clicked learn, went to sonicfire home page where the same info was repeated. Not a hint anywhere about elements 10. Curt on Cape Cod Curt on Cape Cod
Re: sonicfire pro 5 not connecting to PRE 10Sorry, Curt. It works for me, and it should for you too.
Does SmartSound open in addition to SonicFire? It should. If not, you may need to just reinstall. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: sonicfire pro 5 not connecting to PRE 10When I click on "SmartSound" from the Audio Tools dropdown menu in Premiere Elements 10, Sonic Fire Pro 5 - ET opens up. There is a message that pops up as well that tells you to not click the "Cancel" button on that message, otherwise you won't be able to send audio tracks back to Adobe Premiere. So the message has to remain open while you work in Sonic Fire Pro.
