Widescreen DVD Template

Postby hygges4 » Wed Apr 11, 2012 9:07 am

Hi Steve,
I have a problem when using one of your DVD templates - "Wedding Blue".
In my project I have a main menu and two scene menus. The main menu appears in a widescreen (16:9),
but the two scene menus appears with an aspect ratio 4:3 and two black bars on the right and left side of the screen.
I want all the three menus as widescreen. What to do?

Steve told me the:
I'm not sure why you're seeing bars on the sides of your scene menu. What are your project settings?
It's probably even stranger that the main menu doesn't have black bars on the sides. This template is from 2008 (one of our first) and appears to include ONLY a standard 4:3 menu -- not a widescreen.

My project settings are: iMac OS X vers. 10.7.3 - HDV 1080i frame rate 30
I am looking for a widescreen DVD template (associated to a vacation theme) , so then i must skip the "Wedding Blu" template.

The DVD template "Lower Third" seems to be a widescreen DVD template. But how do install it in my PRE 10 project, when it is a html-file?

Are you sure downloaded the Lower Third DVD template and not one of your lower third graphics?

The file that is downloadable is a zip file that needs to be extracted first.
Did you press the Download button and get the download file window where you select which file format you want to download?

Sorry, I was wrong. I wanted to install Lower Third DVD Template not the graphics.

When I tried to install that template I downloaded the file AdobeDownloadAssistant-2.dmg. When I double click that file I get a question if I want to install Adobe Download Assistant.
Shall I copy the file AdobeDownloadAssistant-2.dmg to my MAC/library.../General/lowerthird folder and there install the Adobe Download Assistant? And from there do another download of the files?
Please give me exact info how to do the installation of the Lower Third DVD template.
I would be very grateful if you could help me.

I don't know why you're getting the Adobe Download Assistant, hygges. That's not the DVD template file.

In fact, the template file shouldn't even be a .dmg file. It should be a .zip file.

We have had issues with the Safari browsers and our downloads in the past. It could be that for some reason you're not able to get the correct download.

Can you try with another browser and do not use a download manager, let us know if that helps.

I have problems with downloads from Muvipix when using Firefox. Don't know why and I haven't bothered to get to the bottom of it. Must be something on my computer but it isn't a big issue for me, I just use IE instead when I need to download something. :-D

What indications do you get when there are problems, John?

Note: We've always recommended not to use any kind of "Download Managers" with our site ( including & ESPECIALLY Adobe's #-o ). Because of the way we have the security setup (not bulletproof, BTW), Download Managers can't distinguish the absolute link to the item(s).

Just a download of a .php file the nothing. But I really wouldn't bother with it, Ron. It isn't a problem for me as I have an easily used workaround - which is why I haven't raised it as a problem before.
