Re-Rendering After Saving Clips

Postby NuffRespeck » Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:09 pm

I have reviewed the posts and responses re the above (toggle off clip opacity, Stabilizer etc.,) yet I'm still forced to re-render after closing and re-opening the PE10 application. PE10 remembers only a very small portion of the files that were previously rendered. Any other workarounds? Also, is there a procedure to stop the CTI from returning to the beginning of the show after rendering? ::C ::C

To keep the CTI from jumping back to play the timeline after rendering go to Edit/Preferences/General and uncheck the option to Play Timeline After Rendering.

BTW, are you editing your video on your C drive or do you have a second or external drive for your project and media files?

Also, have you ensured that, whenever you start a new project, you create a new folder for it?

Thank you for your timely response. As per your advice, I have unchecked the option to Play Timeline After Rendering.

All editing is done in my C drive with an external drive for project and media files. (psd, jpeg, audio etc.,)

A new folder is created for each new project.

My scratch disk is set to:
Captured Video: Same as project
Path: C:\User....dobe\Premiere Elements\10.0\
Captured Audio: Same as project
Path: C:\User....dobe\Premiere Elements\10.0\
Video Preview: Same as project
Path: C:\User....dobe\Premiere Elements\10.0\
Audio Preview: Same as project
Path: C:\User....dobe\Premiere Elements\10.0\
Media Cache: Custom
Path: C:\User....ata\Roaming\Adobe\Common\

Sorry, but I have no idea why you continually need to re-render, Nuff. It might be a Vista thing.

It's certainly nothing I'm experiencing in XP, Windows 7 or on my Mac.

After rendering, save the project. Then Save As as a new version. The second copy would be YourTitle_v2. When you open up _v2 the rendering should stick. I have this problem in PrPro from time to time.

Thank's all for your input. None of the options worked so I restarted the whole project. (Whew!) It seems to be working well at this time. I did discover, however, that my cache files were all bloated. After emptying them......never knew I could.....I recovered over 130GB of harddrive space. So there was a silver lining to the system malfunction, I guess. Thanks again!! \:D/ \:D/
