save a clip

Postby hpharley90 » Sun Jan 08, 2012 7:18 pm

I'm working with m2t files.
When I finish applying effects and changes to a clip I like to export the clip {Share>Computer export) and then bring it back into project and combine it with other clips.
When I used Premiere Elements 2.0 it would save clip to project automatically.
With PE 10.0 I have to get the media from the folder I saved it to.
Is there a way to do it automatically like PE2.0? :-D
Thanks
Richard

I'm not sure what you mean by "automatically", Richard. In both versions of the program, you have to export the file.

In version 2, you used File/Export/Movie.

In version 10, you use Share/Computer.

He's talking about the "add to Project When Finished" option that was in File>Export>Movie>Settings...

When checked (the default), when you exported the movie it would be added to the media panel for use in the project. That wasn't available in the Share dialogs. I don't have PrE 10, but given that Adobe has been moving away from Export to Share, I doubt that's there anymore. Do you know Steve?

That option is not available in 10, as you suspected.
