Install New Content?

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 10.

Install New Content?

Postby DocB1973 » Sun Nov 20, 2011 12:33 am

Whenever I start Premiere 10 I get the screen:

"A reduced set of content has been installed. You can install the full content by inserting your content or downloading it. Do you want to install now?"

I downwloaded and clicked on the .exe to install all content so not sure if this has been installed and why I'm getting this message. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Doc

It's downloaded as a compressed file, so there are two parts to the installation process. First it has to be unzipped, then you have to to run the install. I remember that the install took quite a while and it asked what location I wanted to install to. When it's complete you should have a folder called "Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Content." In it will be two folders - one called "PRE 10 Content" and another called "ReadMe." The PRE 10 Content folder has a number of other folders and files. It's fairly large. If you don't have this then the installation wasn't completed.
Be yourself; everyone else is taken.

Guys,

Thanks for the advice. I thought I had done this but apparently not and now it seems fine.

Thanks,
Doc

Does anyone know where to get additional Themes beyond this content pack? In particular, I'm looking for more professional/sleek looking themes they are less 'loud'. I understand there are a couple extra Themes in the Plus membership, but I don't know what they are and not sure the membership price would be worth it for them as that is all i would use the membership for.
Anywhere else I can download or buy them?
Thanks

I think you can view the avialable Plus Themes by selecting them in the dropdown box where you select the theme category. You can preview them but would need to be a member to download them. Apart from them I know of no other sources.

I have this problem too!
Whenever I go into my first Premiere 10 project I get the same screen:

"A reduced set of content has been installed. You can install the full content by inserting your content or downloading it. Do you want to install now?"

I downwloaded the "All Content" selection and clicked on the .exe to install it, (both the 7z file and the app file are there) but I'm still getting the same message whenever I reopen the project. and I'm not sure why.
I have to admit I just clicked on yes for most of the installation portion, so it's possible it installed it in the wrong location?
Can anyone walk me through exactly where these file folders should be?

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

Does it seem like all of the content has been properly installed, tin? How many disc templates do you have, for instance?

By the way, that Reduced Content pop-up panel does have a Do Not Show Again option to check. So at least you can turn it off.

No. it doesn't seem properly installed...the only Disc Menu I see is under "General" and is called "Fun".

I don't see anything else.

Your content is clearly not installed. But I'm sorry, I don't know what more tell you other than what we've already told you.

You just install the extra discs or the extra downloaded content and it's there!

Guess I'll have to call Adobe.
Using Windows Explorer, I can see all the movie themes installed in the Program Files x86 directory, but in the Program Files (64bit) directory the only one showing in Movie Themes is called Style>Fun.

Thanks for your help.

I believe that there is a "32 bit" & "64 bit" installation for the content, not certain. The ...x86 folder is for 32 bit programs. You may have simply installed the wrong pack?
