Advice on using effects [Sony Vegas 13]

Postby stanimirmihov » Fri Sep 09, 2016 7:43 am

Hello Muvipix. I just started using Sony Vegas Video 13. I want to be able to edit and create beuatiful fitness videos - guides and motivational. My dream one day is to be able to create something similar:

I have watched all courses for Sony Vegas from Lynda. They give the basic tools, but in order to be able to create something very good you need imagination I guess - or at least to see it somewhere else.

I have few questions about creating similar effects. Any idea the names of the effects or something similar I can use? I have Sony Vegas Video 13, Boris, NewBlue V2.

from 0:40 to 0:45
from 1:09 to 1:11
from 2:48 to 2:55

Thanks in advance for reading.

Hello, stan, and welcome to Muvipix. I've moved your post to the Vegas forum.

The effect from :40 to :45 is a strobe. You can create one manually by inserting a frame of color every frame or two.

Likewise 1:09 and 2:48 are just stutters, created by cutting in a frame or two or repeating frames.

I don't know of any canned SFX packages that add these effects, but they aren't that hard to create on your own.

Thanks Steve! I actually watched your courses in Lynda, but you probably know that :)

I will try your advice.

Another quick question.

When shooting on laud place. I'm talking but there is music in the background. Is there a way to lower just the music in the background and not my voice?

Unfortunately, that's nearly impossible. That's one of the reasons that dialog in movies and TV shows shot on location must often be re-recorded by the actors after the film is shot.

Thanks for the answer.

Can someone recommend tutorials similar to this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d16HYUqUSI

It's about creating complex video effects.

You'll probably need to be more specific than that, Stan. "Complex video effects" could mean a billion different things.

Is there an effect in particular you want to achieve?
