Full side by side videos in Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13 Su

Is there a way to have two complete videos playing side by side in SMS ? I have found several tutorials of how to do this in Sony Vegas but not with Sony Movie Studio. I was in a hurry and created a very short video with my cell phone and obviously it turned out very shaky. I then used a program called VirtualDub and its Deshaker filter to smooth it out and now would like to put the results side by side with the original to show the difference. I can split the screen but can't get the video to resize to fill the window with the full video frame.

Of course you can, MrG! In fact, it's the same process as you'd use in Vegas.

Put on video on Video 1 and then use the Pan/Crop tool to size and position it on one side of your video frame. Then put the other video on Video 2, directly above the first on the timeline, and use Pan/Crop to size and position it on the other side of your video frame.

If you need more specific instructions, let me know what your video project settings are (specifically, if you're working in a 1920x1080 high-def project or a 720x480 standard def project) and I may be able to work up some exact numbers for your size and positioning.

I can get the side by side windows but the original video frames are cut in half instead of being resized to fit the new window full frame size. Actually the 3 min video is from my cell phone as that's all I had with me at the time. The resolution is 1920 x 1080

Steve, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. All I needed to do was 'zoom' back out to get the full frame of the video in the side by side windows. I just finished posting it on YouTube ( https://youtu.be/jvb0RNOrpxY ) and it seems to have worked out OK. One thing I need to learn how to do now is add in highlights, or pointer arrows to better identify some of the things I might be talking about in a video. Don't know how to do that in Sony Movie Studio yet.

Just one other question, how would you go about adding an arrow, circle or maybe some sort of highlight to point out something in a video?

You can use the Webding font to make an arrow by typing whatever letter of the alphabet looks like an arrow.

Here is a list of the symbols available by using the Webding font.

Otherwise, you can use a program like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to create an arrow shape with no background layer and save it as a transparent PNG, which you can import into Movie Studio.

You can can also customize the Cookie Cutter Media Generator so that it is semi-opaque outside the Cookie Cutter circular shape and then use that shape to highlight something your video.

All depends on what other programs you have available and what effect you're trying to achieve.
