Multicamera editing

Postby mlynn1969 » Wed Aug 27, 2014 2:50 pm

Hi, I'm new here and I found this site through taking a course on Lynda. I just found out that Movie Studio 12 doesn't have the multi camera editing feature. Which is exactly what I need to learn. Is there still a way to edit a multi camera scene in sms12? Keep in mind that I'm a beginner :)

Well, there's no easy way to do it anyway. But welcome to Muvipix -- and thanks for taking my course at lynda.com!

Vegas Pro does, of course, offer multicamera editing. But, if that's too much of a financial investment, you may want to check out CyberLink Powerdirctor, an affordable program that does excellent multicamera editing. In fact, I think it's the only ~$100 program that does. You can find out more about the program on this page.

And here's the home page for the product. Even its very afford Ultra edition does multicam editing!

It is rather tedious but you can line up the tracks and sync the audio together. Then just have to do a lot of cutting. Very Very laborious.

It's very easy if you use Final Cut Pro X (Mac) but I'm not aware of an easy way to do it in Premiere Elements.
Desktop: HPE-580T, i7-950 (3.07GHz), 16GB RAM, Win'7 64-bit Home Premium, PSE12/PRE12, Lightroom 5.
Laptop: MacBook Pro (retina), 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5.
Cameras (in use): Panasonic GH4/Canon HFR400/Canon HV30, GoPro HD Hero2.
