Slideshow building Question

Postby BuddyB » Sat Apr 06, 2013 9:23 pm

I'm not sure of the wisdom, built a 2.5-3 min slideshow very quickly with Vegas HD 10. I did not use the slide creator, just set Media Bin with the files I needed. I had Auto Ripple set and drug the pics into the timeline, added a soundtrack and periodic sound effects. I set the timing of the slides for 10 secs because I want people to have the opportunity to study the jewelry in the show for decision making. The question is, would it have been smarter, or have benefits going through the Slideshow Creator? Or does it make any difference at all?
Thanks, BuddyB

Makes no difference at all, Buddy. All that matters is the result.

On the other hand, the Movie Studio slideshow creator does automatically apply Reduce Interlace Flicker to your photos. (I talk about it on page 120 of my book, if you've got it.) This can improve your photos in your video slightly.

Whether or not it makes a difference is up to you. (I always apply it.) To apply it manually, right-click on each slide and, from the Switches menu, select Reduce Interlace Flicker.

I get the feeling something is not clicking in. I prepared the pics in XaraXtreme. Black background 720X480. On this background I've centered a 400X400 pic. In Xara or Photoshop the pics are sharp. In fullscreen preview, or not, the pics are fuzzy. Reduce Flicker is applied. In properties I've got it set for 720X480. Quality is set a Good, even Preview doesn't change anything. Is it possible I dropped the ball someway in Xara or Photoshop?

Just a suggestion, try burning a sample to a re-writable DVD and then see what it looks like.
