Hi all, just joined the forum and hoping to get to know people.

I use MS 12 suite (64 bit) and author DVD and BluRay with DVDA Studio 5.0 on a W7 quad core system. Steve, I have come across your books and they look really good. Will the VMS HD Patinum 11 have an update for new features in MS 12 soon. I really like the look of the DVDA Studio 5.0 book. I like the software although there are a few features missing. No subtitle or second audio track support, and the buttons, templates etc. are rather limited, but otherwise a great program. Any comments about this from you or others would be most welcome.

Regards and best wishes

:meet: Glad to have you aboard. I agree, Steve's books are great references.

You can modify the existing buttons or make your own using Photoshop Elements or any other image editor.
The templates can also be modified in many ways.

What is it that you would like to change or add?

Hi all and thanks for the warm welcome. Peru, I don't have photoshop elements at present, although I think my wife does. Do the buttons etc. have to be saved in a given format to be installed in DVDA and if so can you suggest how I do this? I think Steve's book talks about this and as I have a birthday coming up I may well buy a copy.

Once again, thanks all for the great welcome.

Regards

I'm not at my editing computer now, but I will try to guide you by memory.

If you right click on a button you either get an option of "open file location" or "edit original" or something like that. You can go the the file and right click on properties to find out what it is, or just open it with your image editor.

If I recall correctly, an 80 X 80 pixel png or tiff will work. Just copy or save it to the same file location as the original buttons.
Steve's book tells you about masks that can be applied to those buttons.

A belated welcome from me too, Bob! (Sorry. I've been out of town on a project.)

I'm researching the new book on version 12 now, and we hope to have it published early this winter. Thanks for the interest!

Hi again, more welcomes, so thanks. Steve, I look forward to the MS12 update when complete. Is the DVDA Studio 5.0 book available in the UK (good old Brishish Pounds!)? It is only listed at Amazon.com not Amazon.co.uk, but I guess they will supply and covert the currency. Son and family left this morning (lots of sad farewells) so trying to keep busy. Peru, going to look at those buttons now.

Best wishes all.

Some of our books cost a fortune to ship overseas when ordered through Amazon, Bob, and some aren't even available.

But if you're interested in having one of our books shipped to you in the UK, write to me directly. I can have my books shipped to you from my publisher and save substantial shipping costs.
