Re: Vegas Audio Output ProblemsHey Chuck, did I give Alaska the correct answer?
Re: Vegas Audio Output ProblemsSounds good to me but I don't use DVD Architect, I use Adobe EncoreDVD.
I figured if it was wrong Steve would say something 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Vegas Audio Output ProblemsIn some cases it is better to create a separate audio file the way the system is designed. Under the audio templates, you would export a separate audio file using, for example, the Studio AC3 (Dolby) audio template. The base name of the audio file should be the same as the base name of the video file. Then when you add the video file to DVD Architect, the audio file is automatically added.
With separate video and audio files, DVD Architect doesn't have to take time to separate (demux) the files. You would have to create separate audio files anyway if you had multiple audio tracks for foreign languages or director's commentary. Re: Vegas Audio Output ProblemsThanks RJ, that is probably better advice than what I gave.
Re: Vegas Audio Output ProblemsCan you give us a bit more detail on what you HAVE tried, Alaska?
For instance, have you tried Make Movie/Burn a DVD/Send to DVD Architect Studio? Is your Vegas project set up for standard definition video or hi-def? And is DVD Architect set up for DVD or BluRay? How your Vegas Movie Studio project is set up is very important, as not all audio formats will port well to DVD Architect. DVD Architect Studio, for instance, can not create a 5.1 audio BluRay. So the more details you can provide about your workflow, the better. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Vegas Audio Output ProblemsAnd please also tell us if there is anything unusual about your computer configuration.
For instance, do you have more than one hard drive? Are all of your programs installed on your C drive? Is your second hard drive an internal or external? All of these things can affect how the programs work. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Vegas Audio Output ProblemsThanks so much everyone. I am a super novice, but really want to learn video.
I am shooting with a HERO HD 2 camera in HD720-60. I am running Vegas 11 and DVD Architect 5. My computer is a Dell with the hard disk divided between C and D. The software is on C and the raw video is on D. I am saving my Vegas files in the same folder on D as the raw video. My Vegas movids include video and HERO sound captures as well as commercial .WAV music files. The .WAV files are also in D in a separate folder from raw video. I am using Keyframes to blend HERO sound and .WAV music. When I export a clip to a DVD using Vegas 11 (under Make Movie without menus) it runs fine on the DVD using Windows Media Player. But when I try to export using Make Movie with Menus to Architect the sound files do not transfer. I believe the glitch is between Vegas and Architect. As near as I can tell the Vegas output of MPEG-2 video and AC-3 audio is the same as the Architect project properties video and audio formats. Neither the HERO captured audio nor the .WAV music make the transfer to DVD Architect. I really appreciate the help.
Re: Vegas Audio Output ProblemsWhen you select the option to Send to DVD Architect, the program creates two streams: a video stream and a separate audio stream.
But if you've got your DVD Architect project properties set up for a DVD, both of those files should go directly into DVD Architect and remain in sync. You can see it in my tutorial "Prepping for Disc." http://muvipix.com/products.php?searchp ... =0&btn.y=0 Have you tried a test run with any other video and audio source to see if the problem is unique to your Hero HD project? Re: Vegas Audio Output ProblemsHi Steve,
I watched your tutorial and I am following the right steps for direct import from Vegas to Architect. I tried importing a .WAV file directly into Architect using Audio Replace in Media Properties and the file loaded into Architect even tho the audio format under Properties was set at AC3. When I try to import my Vegas project AC3 file directly I get the Architect error message "The selected file is not of the required type" which is weird because I have AC3 selected under Architect project properties. The good news is I rendered a Vegas clip this morning with Render As (selecting AC3 and HD720-60). When I dragged the rendered file directly from Windows Explorer to Architect, it loaded fine including audio. For some reason Architect is not recognizing AC3 audio compiled by Vegas under Make Movie. I will continue to play with it but at least now I have a work around and can continue with my project. If I figure it out, I will post it. I may uninstall and reinstall the software if I get time. Thanks again, and by the way I really like your two books. Very well written.
Re: Vegas Audio Output ProblemsThanks for the kind words about the books, Alaska!
