Hoe to add PowerPoint slides so they fill the entire screen

Postby jimp » Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:22 am

I want to add PowerPoint slides to my videos (which I can do) but cannot get them to fill the entire screen. I shot a video of a speaker and panned to his PowerPoint slides. Now I want to insert the PowerPoint slides where they are referenced by the speaker. I have converted the slides to individual .jpg or .PNG files and brought them into Vegas but cannot get them to fill the whole screen. I have tried resizing the PowerPoints using the page set-up\sides sized for tool in PowerPoint. I have also tried using the Selection Box tool in Vegas. Suggestions?

What are the dimensions (in pixels) of the stills you created from your PowerPoint presentation?

Is your video 4:3 or widescreen?

The PowerPoint slides are a 16:9 set up (10inches by 5.63inches) then I think the full slide will be: 960px X 540px.
The video is from a Sony HVR-A1U (HDV 1080i). Thanks. Jimp

In Vegas, you can make the stills fill the frame doing this:

Click on the Event Pan/Crop icon:

Right-click and select "Match Output Aspect:"

Hopefully, all your PowerPoint slides are the same size. If so, you can copy and paste event attributes from one clip to several at the same time. If they aren't the same size, then do this in batches where you copy and paste event attributes to only same sized clips.

Also, for this to work, your Vegas project properties should be set up so that the frame dimensions match your output frame dimensions when you render.
