How to Burn Both SD and BluRay Without Restarting...

Postby George Tyndall » Tue Apr 19, 2011 6:45 am

...a new project?

It's a drag to need to two sets of media--one SD and one HD--to two separate timelines and then recreate the same buttons, etc, when one wishes to burn both types of discs.#-o (With PRE7, I can output my one and only HD timeline to both SD and BluRay discs.)

Any workaround?

In DVD Architect Studio, you can change the project properties on the fly, outputting both a DVD version and a BluRay version from the same source files.

I can't guarantee you'll get great results from both, but it's worth a try.

You can also use the same project in Premiere Elements to output both a hi-def 1440x1080 for BluRay and a standard def DV-AVI and then use each output to author a separate disc project.

How do I do that, Steve?

Specifically, how do I output my current HD timeline (composed of HD files made with the H.264 codec) to SD DVD? (Make Blu-ray Disc is currently showing on the toolbar.)

Go to the File menu and select Properties.

On the Properties screen, you'll find the option to switch your project from BluRay to DVD.

Whoa!

File>Optimize informs me that the process will require recompression of all the audio and video files and will take 1.5 hours--so, as Gilda Radner would say if she were in my position:

"Never mind!"

I'll stick with the workflow I described earlier but thanks for informing me.
