But if you already have 40 videos competed, does Premier Elelments convert avi to what?

If the video converter program converts to "DVD ready" a .vob file is created, and DVD Architict does not seem to recognize it. At least I can not figure out how to drag it into the program.

So do all video converters make a .vob file when converting to "DVD ready"?

No. DVD-ready videos are MPEGs.

A DVD authoring program turns them into .vobs -- the file format the DVD players read.

Although, technically, they're the same file format. In fact, I think you can change the vob suffix to mpg and they'll work just like MPEGs.

I think the program you used to create the vobs assumed you wanted DVD files, not DVD-ready source files.
