Postby Doreen L. » Sat Mar 14, 2009 12:13 pm

Does Architect Studio have the ability to loop a DVD?

I know you can loop a menu, and a menu can have a video for a background. There doesn't seem to be a 30 second limit. So in a roundabout way, yes, you can loop.

EDIT: Just found that there is a 1 (one) gigabyte limit on the size of all menus. So how long is that, about 4 - 1/2 minutes.

Please read my post again. There is a limit for menus. Total size can only be 1 gigabyte.

Ok. Now I see the way. For End Action, you can link to the beginning. I'm not talking about the menu this time, but about the title movie.

I see what you're saying. I'll just have to see what can be done when I set it all up.

I'm surprised it just doesn't have a loop function. My other alternative is to set up all the videos in ProShow Producer, which does have a loop function.

I'm sorry I wasn't more clear. I realize that you can loop in DVD Architect per your post. The DVD is not for me and the people I'm doing this for would rather it be a 'button'.

A button to loop? Nope. The only button that I know of is the repeat button on the remote control. Sorry Doreen.

Doreen, Do you know anything about PGCEdit?

If you place two buttons on a menu, one to turn loop on and one to turn loop off, you can use PGCEdit to create that functionality. I could give you the instructions. It's pretty easy.

I'd help out but I'm a bit confused.

What is it you're trying to loop, Doreen?

You can certainly set a movie up to repeat in DVD Architect Studio.

You can also set up a menu background to loop and a motion menu button to loop.

The challenge might be to create a video that didn't loop except when you wanted it to. But I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for either.

Steve - What I want to do is have a DVD with a button that says 'Loop' that will play all the videos and then start all over again. One video is for an organization open house and I'm doing another for a take out restaurant. Both just want to put the DVD in and have it repeat over and over. But for the open house, they also want to be able to play a specific video as well - there will be about 10 separate videos on the DVD.

You say "all the videos"? In other words, you've got menu buttons to all the clips, but you want one play-all-and-repeat, right?

Okay, here's what you do. Create a playlist on the main menu page. The playlist itself will be located in the root menu but the button will appear on the main page.

When you create a playlist, select all of the videos in the option screen and order them in then Playlists panel.

When you're done, go to the Playlist Properties, click to select the End Actions page and set Destination back to the Playlist (which is probably named Quick Playlist).

That should do it.

I think you got it Steve. I thought, Doreen, you were going for a separate button to turn looping on and off.
