DVD-Lab or DVD Architect Studio?Hello all.
I am Larry, a new member to Muvipix forum. I am trying to decide which is the better program: DVD-Lab Studio or DVD Architect Studio. Any thoughts? Thanks. Larry D.
Re: DVD-Lab or DVD Architect Studio? Can't really help with your question but just wanted to say welcome to the forum. Hopefully someone will be along shortly you can give some input.
Re: DVD-Lab or DVD Architect Studio?Hi Larry, Welcome to Muvipix
I do know that there are quite a few DVD Architect fans here, I use Encore DVD CS3 myself. There have been many good things said about DVD Architect and I would probably be using it if I hadn't needed to go to Premiere Pro. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: DVD-Lab or DVD Architect Studio?I started using the Studio version of DVD Architect recently, and I'm just thrilled with it!
Great results, lots of great functions (including the ability to add video before your menu and between your menus) and, once you get a feel for it, a very intuitive and well designed interface. $39, if you download it form the Sony site -- and worth every penny, in my opinion! Re: DVD-Lab or DVD Architect Studio? One thing I do know, if you need help there are more people here using DVD Architect than anything else
Should be able to get some answers pretty quick. There is a current thread on DVD Architect going on right now. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: DVD-Lab or DVD Architect Studio? My prior version 4 I got for $10 is probably the best deal I ever made on software. Whatever later versions have, apparently I don't need it because this ten buck version does absolutely everything I want it to do. Wonderful software! To my surprise, it even works on Vista, i.e. on the 2nd newer computer, too.

Re: DVD-Lab or DVD Architect Studio?Steve, now that you like Architect, you ought to try Vegas if you haven't, which works seamlessly with A., AND THEN WRITE A HOW TO BOOK ABOUT THEM! As good as they are, these products really lack in available guides compared to PE. There definitely is a market there.

Re: DVD-Lab or DVD Architect Studio?I agree as to needing a more comprehensive instructional on DVD Architect. Nothing much out there but it becomes easier the more you use it and I recommend it highly. As for Vegas, there is a guy named Douglas Spotted Eagle that has put out some great Vegas instructional material. Not to dissuade Steve from writing another. I purchased his Guide to Adobe Premiere Elements 7 and found it to be extremely helpful and well written. (Although, I would fire your proof reader, Steve.)

Re: DVD-Lab or DVD Architect Studio?Wha--?
There was an early version of the book released that did have some typos in it, Bruce, but I thought the current version was clean. If you think you have one of those early prints, send me a private message and I'll be glad to replace it with the current one. That's embarrassing! Re: DVD-Lab or DVD Architect Studio?I have used DVD-Lab since before Adobe came out the Premiere Elements Version 1. It was the only way I had of making a DVD then. Now that I have PrEl, I normally use it because it is less work and faster, but if PrEl does not do what I want, I go to back to DVD-Lab. It takes a little while to learn, but the online documentation is good. I like it because it is very stable and flexible. I have never used DVD Architect so I can not compare the two, but for me, DVD-Lab is the cat's meow. (I have the standard version, not studio or pro.)
