PRE11 vs DVD Architect framerates

Postby bernieraffe » Sun Oct 27, 2013 10:46 am

I'm in the process of creating a BluRay using DVD Architect.

The resolution I want is 1280 x 720, the frame rate of my original video clips is 29.97 and so In PRE11 I'm using the HDTV 720p 29.97 High Quality preset to share as a mpeg.

The BluRay properties option in DVD Architect for 1280 x 720 does not have a 29.97 fps option, only 23.97 and 24 (plus other higher ones), and I think this is causing the final videos to be just slightly stuttery. The general quality is pretty good, and I can live with it, but just wondered if I've gone wrong somewhere.

Cheers,
Bernie

According to Wikipedia 29.97 (30) fps is not a BluRay video format.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray_Disc#Video

You could try 59.940 (60) which is - and is double your frame rate so the video should not stutter.

Yep, that should do it. In fact, I've found that if I have clips with mixed frame rates in the same project, such as 23.976, 29.97, or 59.94, all three will work on a 59.94p timeline.
