Duplicated themes

Postby Uncle Ben » Wed Dec 12, 2012 7:33 am

I have noticed that themes somehow get duplicated. Not that it is such a big deal, the duplicates are easily depicted (lover case first letter, or a bracketed number 2 following the filename;) but it's annoying because they creep back in. Anyone else with the same problem? Is this a known bug?

Never seen that, Ben.

Are you talking about themes you create and add to the program's Themes collection, based on your layouts?

I'm talking about the Themes collection. I had to go in Exporer to remove duplicates. And I'm not talking about just one - there were about five or six, some of them duplicated twice. The duplicates would appear with exactly the same graphic and name in the Themes panel; but in Explorer, they would show as album.thm (small cap) or album(2).thm in addition to Album.thm.

That's interesting, Ben. I've never seen that.

Just for the record, are you using DVD Architect Pro or Studio? Which version? And on what operating system?

Can you think of anything that might be triggering this behavior? For instance, are these themes that you've used in DVD projects?

I am using DVD Architect Studio 5 (Build 161) and I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit updated with SP1. The duplicates were artistic, birthday1, birthday2, corporate2, movie1, music1, party1, sports2 and travel1. I cannot not think of any reason why this would happen. The only ones I've used are music and artistic. If you haven't heard of this before, perhaps we can just leave this on the back burner for now and see if the problem shows its ugly face again. Who knows, it could be that I picked up some additional themes from somewhere that weren't additions at all but duplicates. :conf:

Or you accidentally copied them to the same folder with an errant mouse click.

Could be. I'll keep an eye on it. Thank you both!

I haven't touched DVDAS since my last post. I just ran it this morning, and the Wedding 2 theme is duplicated. :conf: :conf:

At least now I know that it's nothing that I'm doing, but I have no clue as to what would cause this.

Any ideas anyone?
