Looking around at the specs of the Canon HFS10 it seems it is full AVCHD so 1920x1080 and has stereo audio. So you should use the Full AVCHD project preset. You can look at the properties of the clip from within PE9 and it should tell you the video and audio format. You can then compare that to your project setting or just let PE9 change the project setting to match your footage.
