When they say "new" does that mean "young?"

Well I think this

We are looking for following type of users:

1. People who do not have any experience with any video editing software but who want to edit videos.

2. People who are already editing videos using any video editing application.

pretty much includes everyone doesn't it? People that don't edit video, and people that do :-k

I was also going to ask if they have to be human, but I see from the description that they want "people."

I would highly recommend that everyone do this if possible. As long as you can donate a few hours a week to testing it is well worthwhile and you do get to learn a lot about the process. At the end of the testing they usually give all of the testers the software bundle (Premiere and Photoshop Elements) for free :)

It looks like they are excluding "people who do not have any experience with any video editing software and who do not want to edit videos."

Well that would not be very politically correct of them, how can anyone exclude anyone in this day and age?
Isn't that discrimination of people that don't want to edit video? Who do they think they are anyway?
We will probably have to file a class action lawsuit on behalf of the non-video editing minority :glasses5:

I think they included those people in the Version 8 beta testing. That didn't work out too well, so they dropped them from this go-around. :-$

It would appear that they are looking to see how the new version will appeal to novice users and users of other consumer NLE software. I'm sure they will include some current Premiere Elements users, but I'm wondering if they are mainly getting casual PrE users -- could explain why so many features are disappearing. :-k

That is why you and RJ would be good candidates. This is also a great opportunity for members here too. If I had more time I would be tempted.

That is the real problem, people that really use the program don't have time to do testing ](*,)

Exactly what I was thinking Chuck. At first I was ready to jump on this. Then I realized that to do it right would be quite a committment. I still don't know how you and Steve find the time.

It doesn't really require all that much time. If you did join and just played with whatever video you had handy so that issues with your specific video and OS system, and configuration could be identified, it would make for a more stable release for everyone.

Will they give you some help, like on the phone, if you can't get something to work?
If so, it might be worthwhile for the learning experience.

They have a forum similar to this one, you get lots of help that way and through emails.
They are almost finished for this year so I doubt they are still looking for testers, maybe next year.
