Rolling and slipping

Postby Steve Grisetti » Sat Mar 12, 2011 10:57 am

There used to be a hidden feature in Premiere Elements that allowed you to slip or roll a cut.

In other words, if you have a cut or transition between two clips, you could hold down this key on your keyboard and drag across the cut and it would move left or right between the two clips without changing the positions of the clips.

I think it's called rolling or slipping.

Can anybody remember the shortcut?

In Pro (if I understand you correctly) it's called the Slip Tool. The shortcut is Y. Would that be the same?

Is this the same "slip" you are talking about

Ctrl + Alt + <- Slip left Moves clip edit points
Ctrl + Alt + -> Slip right Moves clip edit points

Ken Jarstadt wrote an article about Slip, Slide and Nudge in Premiere Elements 2 (in PowerPoint format) and a list of keyboard shortucts (in Word format).

Ken put that together for version 2, back on the old chuckengels.com site for everyone at the Adobe forum.
Ahhh, the good old days :)

We had a huge discussion about Nudge, Slip and Slide, Ken wrote up the differences and the shortcuts.
