I wonder if they will make that part of a future update?

There is also this one for folks who create Web-DVDs in high definition. It helps with smoother playback, I assume it just reduces the bit-rate and thus quality of the Web-DVD.

Please explain how to find installation folder

"Replace the mc_mfimport.dll file in the Adobe Premiere Elements 9 installation folder with the extracted mc_mfimport.dll file."

Can someone help me install this patch? I have had m Macbook Pro two years and love it - havent' used Windows since ;) However, I am still not sure how Apple organizes all the program files. Here is what the instructions say:

1. Close Adobe Premiere Elements if it is open.
2. Download the file mc_mfimport_mac.zip.
3. Extract the contents of the zip file to your computer.
4. Navigate to the Frameworks directory.
a. Right-click Adobe Premiere Elements in Applications, and select Show Package Contents.
b. Double-click Contents.
c. Double-click Frameworks.
5. Replace mc_mfimport.framework with the extracted file.
6. Open Adobe Premiere Elements, and retry.

(This is a copy and paste so the numbers are messed up.)

I downloaded the file and extracted the contents but where is the Frameworks directory? I did find PE9 in Appliations and tried to right click to get to Show Package Contents but that option did not exist.

I ought to mention, too, I only bought PE9 last week but I don't know if it includes this patch.

Many thanks.

Those are Adobe's instructions, so I'm not sure exactly what they're referring to.

But the Frameworks directory on Mac OSX is located in the Library directory. But it sounds like they may be referring to the Frameworks directory in the extracted Zip files. Though that doesn't make any sense either.

I don't know. It's pretty confusing.

Why not save yourself this grief and just to to Premiere Elements Help menu and select Check for Updates? It should automatically load it for you.

Thank you. It did install an update the day after I installed the program. I wasn't sure if this would be included but it probably is.

:( Hi Steve
Thank you for your email. I also heard from Chuck Engels Telling me that numerous emails have been sent. However I have not received any other than your and Chuck's emails. I searched my junk male history but found nothing.

I think I have finally figured out how to acccess this forum. However I am not sure I am using it correctly as to the subject matter.

I am having major problems with Premiere Elements 9. It is constantly crashing my system when I try to work on a video project. I hae been in touch with Adobe but so far they have not been able to solve my problem. Is there a way to seek help in this forum to resolve the problem? Should I make a separate subject of this item?

I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Glad you found your way to the forum, Newf. And, if you'd like to start your own thread, we'll be glad to offer you a few pointers and do what we can for you.

Meantime, start by running this program. It's free (just make sure to read the installation options carefully or you'll ed up with an annoying toolbar on your browser). Even if it doesn't fix everything, I'm sure you'll find it will make a big difference in your computer's performance.

Then, when you do post, be sure to list your operating system, your processor speed, how much RAM you have, how much free space you have on your C drive and if you are using a second or external hard drive for your projects.
