Crop a video movie segment and make it full screen

Crop a video movie segment and make it full screen

Postby gregv40 » Thu Jan 06, 2011 7:10 pm

Can you take a video movie segment crop the image (like a closeup) and make that segment full screen? I realize that resolution will be lost, but is this possible on PE 9?

I had to record and event with the camera locked down, and would like to make the finished product have come close up shots in the final product.

Thanks

That's easy to do if you use the Crop effect.

When you open the Properties panel (right-click on the clip you've added the effect to and select Show Properties), you'll see a checkbox labeled Zoom under the Crop properties.

As you crop down your image, it will scale up to fill your video frame.

Though you're right, Greg. It's going to look fuzzy and not full resolution.

Thanks Steve, you've made my day. Couldn't run the camera because I was too busy running sound for a children's Christmas program at our church. Recorded a wide shot of the program just in case this could be done. Also, I used a wireless IFB to feed sound from the PA system directly into the HD Digital camera.
