Mixing still and video in a slideshow

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 9.

Mixing still and video in a slideshow

Postby IanKing » Sun Nov 04, 2012 9:53 am

I've done a little bit of experimenting with varied results but can someone tell me if it is possible to insert video clips into a slideshow presentation. I haven't seen anything to say I can't and my test attempts sometimes work and sometimes don't. Am I missing something or is it not completely 'do-able''.

thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,
When mixing the two you need to set the project up so it is using the preset for the video, not the still images. You make the stills match the video not the other way around. Mixing still images and various types of video, music, graphics and any other clips is what Premiere Elements is all about, definitely something you can and should do :)

What kinds of problems are you having?
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Hi Chuck, I was playing around with 3 video clips and about 6 stills. Basically just trying out various option, video clip editing within the project, moving stills around etc.. Nothing seemed to be working but then I remembered the red bar over the clips and realised I had to hit enter to render the clip. I haven't done much with PRE for most of the summer so this was a learning experience. I do have the presets set up for video.

thanks again

Is everything working better after rendering Ian?
