Burning a video project in "chapters"

Burning a video project in "chapters"

Postby IanKing » Sat Feb 11, 2012 11:45 am

Can anyone help with this problem?
I have 13Gb of video clips form a Mediterranean cruise. I am having trouble loading all the clips in Prem Elements 9 to do the editing. Is there a way to edit in segments e.g. a "chapter" for Barcelona to Rome, then a new chapter on the dvd for Sicily to Dubrovnik etc. This way I can get the clips loaded in small enough segments that won't overwhelm my memory and I can produce the video.

I'm using a laptop with 2 ghz core 2 processor, 4 gb of memory, 1 Tb of out board disc space and 350 gb of internal disc. I'm using Windows XP Pro and am considering starting in clean boot mode to minimize the effect of system resources onp Premiere Elements.

thanks for any help anyone can give.

Welcome to moviepix, Ian!

Editing in segments is a common technique with Premiere Elements. Create a separate project for each segment and, as each segment is completed, export it as a standard definition file using Share to PC. Then, create a master project using the edited segments and add the chapter markers, create the dvd menus, and export the dvd.
