Question for anyone with PRE9 and a Plus account.

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 9.

Question for anyone with PRE9 and a Plus account.

Postby Gerlinde » Sun Oct 30, 2011 9:58 pm

I have signed up for the Plus account to have access to the additional content. I just noticed, that I don't have any Effects or Transitions from Photoshop.com. I have some Themes with the yellow ribbon showing, so some of the additional content is available.
Could anyone with PRE9 check for me, if there is something under effects or transitions from Photoshop.com.

I also seem to miss some of the effects in PRE7, like Motion Blur, Rolling Waves, Wiggle and Liquify.

I don't have a plus account, so can't help you there. The other effects (motion blur, etc.) are GPU effects that were dropped during version changes and are not available in PrEl 9.

Hi, I can confirm there are no additional Effects, Transitions or Clip Art for Plus account holders, just Themes and Titles. And as Dave says the effects you are missing are the GPU ones that were removed after PRE7.

Hi Dave, Hi Paul,
Thank you for the information. There is a link to this Adobe site, referring to 4 effects from NewBlue on the PRE9 splash screen. They were posted in June 2010. But I never saw them in PRE9 as down loadable effects in the Effects palette. The same effects are also advertised on the PRE7 splash screen.
Has anyone been able to get those?

June 2010 would have still been PRE7, PRE9 did not come out until Sept/Oct 2010. So maybe the effects were only for PRE7 ?????

Hmmm. I have the Wiggle transition in Premeire Elements 7 without being a plus member. It's in the NewBlue 3D Explosion Elements.

I don't see any of the other mentioned effects or transitions with a yellow ribbon.

Paul, I think 2010 we had PRE8, which I stayed away from. But would the extra content not also have been available in PRE7 at that time? See my earlier post, screen shot 2.
Robert, I have Wiggle as a transition too in PRE7 and 9, but it should be a video effect see here

My photoshop.com account expired after I installed PSE9 and now, when I look at the number of yellow ribbons in PSE10, there are only a very few--and many seem to be duplicates of those that I already have.

Given that I don't use the online storage, is there any compelling reason to renew the subscription?

With Plus you get much more online storage, a couple extra themes, effects and disc templates and access to more tutorials in the Inspiration Browser.

But if none of those mean much to you, I'd save the $29 a month.

What Effects do you get Steve? That is one of the questions, no one can find any effects or transitions although Adobe has advertised that there are...

Well, you're SUPPOSED to get effects, transitions, clip art, etc. But you're right. I haven't seen any lately.

It's not $29.00 a month, is it? I thought is was $49.00 a year.

Yes , it is $49 a year.
I decided to call Adobe and find out what the story is. So far I have talk to 3 different people, spend at least 1h on the phone, mostly on hold and listening to annoying music. The not so funny part is, that neither of the people I talked to, did ever hear of Photoshop.com Plus membership, not even the subscription department has a clue.

I was able to give the last guy I talked to, the web address from the page I posted earlier. He promised to find someone to take care of my problem and have him call me. That was a couple of hours ago, good thing he did not put me on hold anymore.

They must have hired a ghostwriter to place content on the site.... :-8

When it first started Muvipix was supplying a lot of content, that ended after the first year.
Lynda.com does a lot of the tutorials, don't know who does the other content.
It's a good thing we don't run Muvipix like they run Photoshop.com #-o
