Optimize Photos for High-Resolution Video

Optimize Photos for High-Resolution VideoA technical question: The Muvipix Guide recommends reducing photos to 2200x1235 pixels (ca. 16:9) to reduce the down sampling work (i.e. time) of Premiere Elements. However, since high definition video is 1920x1080 (exactly 16:9) pixels, wouldn't it be easier on PrE to use 1920x1080 rather than the higher resolution 2200x1235? I often make Blu-Ray slide shows of 1000 photos, so time is important to me.
Re: Optimize Photos for High-Resolution VideoYou can indeed use 1920x1080. The reason for 2200x1235 is to enable a little pan and zooming around the photo.
Re: Optimize Photos for High-Resolution VideoIf I wanted to leave room around the edges wouldn't I want to reduce the photo to less than 1920x1080 rather than more?
Re: Optimize Photos for High-Resolution VideoThe idea is to pan and zoom within the photo and maintain quality. Look at it this way... your video frame size is 1920x1080... this can be moved around within the larger 2200x1235 photo. You can zoom out to see the complete 2200x1235 frame and then you can zoom in to 1920x1080 and not impact quality, ie not zooming digitally. If you start with a 1920x1080 photo size and then zoom in you will impacting quality as you are digitally zooming.
Re: Optimize Photos for High-Resolution VideoOK, I got it! Thanks.
Re: Optimize Photos for High-Resolution VideoTip (or not to tip) ?? I have always had a concern about taking a 4x3 still and having PE convert to 16x9 for an HD video -Soo.. went looking at my cameras and found that some will allow you to take at 16x9 so you get what you started out with on the itme line = no unexpected (uncontrollable) cropping - totally agree with having to over size to allow for pan and zoom -but nice to start with correct aspect ration - Kens Burns showed us a lot !!!
